Some of us can never get enough of the awards! This year I’m so excited because we have had the opportunity to interview such great Hollywood stars in the industry, such as Stephen Spielberg at his World premiere in New York City.
The World War epic War Horse earned six nominations, including one for best picture. When asked about this, Stephen said, “I am thrilled with our multiple nominations for The Help and War Horse. It is the first time I have experienced two best picture nominations in the same year. One is a high honor. Two is humbling but very exciting. It is a tribute to all those who joined with Stacy Snider and our DreamWorks studios team to develop and make these two films with stories that we passionately felt we had to make.”
Much respected producer Kathleen Kennedy, had previously shared with me the story behind War Horse and how she saw the play in London and told Stephen this had to be made into a movie.
Kathleen stated, “We are thrilled for the nominations War Horse has received and most of all thankful to have been working under the leadership of Stephen Spielberg, whose moral clarity, vision and sensitive handling of the Great War might serve in some way to raise awareness of war’s pointlessness.”
