There is only one thing I love more than cupcakes… Its sisters making cupcakes!
I first heard of the girls when I was in London for the Royal Wedding, where I interviewed the famous Panjabi MC. He’s known for his new release hit, Morni and for his Slumdog Millionaire hit, Jogi. He was actually discovered by Jay Z (another of our favorite interviews!). Panjabi MC was performing at the Kennedy Center in DC and of course he had cupcakes and he loved the girls! (Just to be in the know, musicians and celebrities are often seen there sneaking a bite.) So interviewing sisters and business partners Katherine Kallinis and Sophie Kallinis LaMontagne was a blast! They run Georgetown Cupcake, a Washington, D.C. cupcakery and you can watch them on TLC. They gave me some insight on their cupcakes, as they make 10,000 cupcakes a day… Is that for real?!
